The Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation (FJBG) has opened applications for its 2025 University Scholarship Program, an initiative that offers young Guatemalans the opportunity to pursue higher education at prestigious private universities in Guatemala. This program, which has benefited over 500 students since it began in 2000, provides comprehensive support, allowing recipients to fully develop their academic and professional potential.
Applications are open from January 20th through March 14th, 2025. Applicants must submit their applications through the digital platform provided.
What is the FJBG University Scholarship Program?
The University Scholarship Program of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation—the social outreach arm of CMI—supports academically talented students with limited economic resources to pursue higher education.
Since its inception, the program has graduated more than 270 professionals who now contribute to Guatemala’s development through positions in local companies, multinational corporations, and within CMI itself.
In addition to full tuition coverage, the program supports students’ overall growth, equipping them with the necessary skills and resources to excel professionally.

Students selected for the 2025 University Scholarship Program will receive a comprehensive support package that includes:
- Full coverage of tuition and monthly fees for the duration of their degree (up to five years).

- English language leveling, according to the assigned university’s requirements.

How to Apply for the 2025 University Scholarship Program
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be in their senior year of high school in 2025.
- Have maintained a cumulative GPA of at least 85 points (on a 100-point scale) since the 9th grade.
- Demonstrate limited financial resources, which will be verified during the selection process.

- Online Registration: Applicants must complete and submit the digital application form before March 14, 2025.
- Academic and Socioeconomic Evaluation: Once the application period closes, shortlisted candidates must complete academic assessments and undergo a socioeconomic evaluation.
- Selection Process: A multidisciplinary team will review each candidate’s profile to ensure compliance with all program requirements.
