Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI) has been a leader in promoting entrepreneurship and professional development. Through its focus on business education and leadership training, CMI has helped countless businesspersons achieve their career goals and establish their own businesses.
As a multi-Latin corporation of family origin, entrepreneurship is part of CMI’s DNA. It was through a venture, a small store in San Cristóbal Totonicapán in Guatemala founded in 1920, that Don Juan Bautista Gutiérrez sowed the roots of what is now CMI. Currently, under the leadership of the third generation of the family, Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez President Chairman of CMI Capital, and Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, President Chairman of CMI Foods, the Corporation continues to promote innovative programs and resources to foster an entrepreneurial spirit and a culture of continuous learning in the region.
The most recent example of this was the successful graduation of 22 entrepreneurs who were part of the CMI Emprende Program.
CMI’s Entrepreneurship Program (CMI Emprende) celebrated the graduation of 22 new Guatemalan entrepreneurs, who learned the essential tools for their personal and professional development over the course of the last year.
During the ceremony, graduates received their diplomas, plus a year of free counseling from Enactus, an international organization that supports the growth of young Guatemalan entrepreneurs. In addition, as a fundamental part of the program, CMI has granted a seed capital of Q30,000 to the six most outstanding undertakings to promote the development of their businesses and their growth in the market.
The Entrepreneurship Program, promoted by the CMI Corporate University (laUcmi), in collaboration with Babson College in the United States, awarded scholarships to all participants to help them formalize and strengthen their businesses, as well as to instill entrepreneurial approach in them.
During the learning program, participants acquired critical knowledge for the development of their companies, such as the creation of a business model and budget, the identification of their value proposition and the development of future sales projections, among other skills.
In addition, participants have had the support and guidance of CMI executives, who have acted as mentors and offered advice to maximize the potential of the program and foster the professional development of its participants.
With a focus on creating opportunities and promoting excellence, CMI continues to lead the way in promoting entrepreneurship and professional development throughout the region.
