As part of Earth Day activities, CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, through its Renace Hydroelectric Plant, participated in the “2025 IV Environmental Forum: Forest Conservation and Wildfire Prevention,” held in San Pedro Carchá, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. This event brought together key stakeholders from various sectors and reaffirmed CMI Capital’s commitment to sustainable development and the protection of natural resources in the region.
A Forum Focused on Collaboration and Learning
The 2025 IV Environmental Forum took place at the Don Bosco Center, bringing together government institutions, NGOs, community councils, cooperatives, academic representatives, and private companies. Throughout the day, participants engaged in discussions on essential topics related to Guatemala’s environmental management. CMI and Renace played an active role in the dialogue spaces, where they shared:
Conservation experiences in areas of high biodiversity
- Strategies for preventing and mitigating forest fires
- Effective community-based environmental education practices
- Case studies of collaboration between the private sector and local stakeholders
The event concluded with the signing of the “Declaration for Intersectoral Cooperation in Forest Conservation and Wildfire Prevention,” in alignment with Guatemala’s Forestry Law (Decree 101-96). This action emphasized the importance of working together to safeguard the country’s ecosystems.
