

CMI Capital, business group within CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, has unveiled its 2022 Sustainability Report, a comprehensive document detailing its various initiatives in impact investing and sustainable development. Titled Consolidating Our Purpose, the report reflects the company’s commitment to environmental, social, and economic sustainability, achieving significant results in environmental stewardship and social development.
CMI Capital’s Business Units Impact and Achievements
In 2022, CMI Capital made significant strides in its business units: Energy, Real Estate Development, and Finance. The Energy Unit, for instance, has reached an effective capacity of 818 MW in renewable energies, preventing the emission of approximately 1.7 million tons of CO2 annually. Meanwhile, the Real Estate Development Unit has added over 290,625 square feet of sustainable construction, bringing the total to nearly 3,767,370 square feet.
CMI has been recognized as one of the top employers in the region, thanks to its “Gente+” (People+) Program, which focuses on the well-being and professional development of all its employees. Additionally, CMI Capital’s CEO, Enrique Crespo, has been acknowledged as one of the leaders driving the region forward. CMI Capital has also become the first private company to join the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), reaffirming its commitment to investments that yield measurable social and environmental benefits.

The 2022 Sustainability Report from CMI Capital is a clear indicator of its commitment to a sustainable future. A future that began in 1920 with a small store in San Cristóbal Totonicapán, Totonicapán, Guatemala, and continued in 1936 with the opening of the Molino Excelsior. Later, diversifying in 1964 with Avícola Villalobos, and leading to various operations in the region and in different industries including real estate development, finance, and renewable energy, thus consolidating CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones.
