Corporación Multi-Inversiones (CMI) delivered medical equipment to the Hospital Center in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, which will be the center of attention ready for possible emergencies and cases of Covid-19 patients in the western highlands of the country.
The donation – which was delivered to the Government of Guatemala – includes X-ray units, respirators, infusion pumps, defibrillators, hospital beds, UPS and electrical transformers, among others, and will have the capacity to serve 125 people in regular beds and 18 in the intensive care unit.
This region is an important part of CMI, because it was the place where Juan Bautista Gutiérrez started, 100 years ago, the undertaking that gave rise to CMI.
The Chairman Presidents of the group, Juan Luis Bosch and Juan José Gutiérrez, on behalf of their shareholders and employees, delivered the donation, which is equivalent to eight million quetzales. The entire amount was used to equip the Hospital Center in Quetzaltenango.
“For several weeks, we have provided support from different sources, and in several of the countries where we operate, with the donation of food through Pollo Campero for institutions which handle emergencies, medical supplies for hospitals, as well as the donation of food to the municipal authorities of our communities. Today, with pride and affection, we are present in the region that saw our birth 100 years ago”, said Juan José Gutiérrez, President Chairman of CMI Foods.
CMI reiterated its commitment to continue working through its operations with responsibility and commitment, to ensure the supply of food and the supply of essential services such as energy for the population and the families of the countries where it operates.
“Our main responsibility is to continue working and supporting all the safety and hygiene provisions from our food and energy operations to ensure supply and services for families in need. Together we can move forward”, stated Juan Luis Bosch, President Chairman of CMI Capital.
CMI’s businesses include, in the CMI Foods cluster, the wheat flour milling, pasta and cracker production businesses; poultry, pork, processed and sausage manufacturing industry; balanced food for animals and pets; restaurant industry, with its Pollo Campero brand, among others.
