Expanding Production Capacity in Masagua
CMI launches a new pet and animal food production line.
CMI has increased its production capacity at the Masagua, Escuintla plant by incorporating a new extrusion line, boosting output from 15 metric tons per hour (MT/hr) to 25 MT/hr. This expansion will enable the company to respond more efficiently to consumer needs, improving the availability of pet food under brands such as Rufo, Rambocan, Alimax, and Alimiau. Additionally, the plant will also produce fish feed under the Fontana brand and horse feed under the Sangre Real brand.
The introduction of this new production line is accompanied by the implementation of automated systems and standardized processes, ensuring the quality and safety of the manufactured products. This enhancement also reflects the expertise of Aliansa, a brand with over 60 years of experience, reinforcing CMI’s strong reputation in the regional market.
Innovation and Commitment to Sustainable Development
The increased production capacity at the Masagua plant is just one of many initiatives CMI is undertaking to strengthen its presence in the regional pet food market. Gabriel Eisemberg, General Director of B4B (Business for Business), highlighted that innovations like this are essential for the company’s growth and continuous improvement of its value chain.
Additionally, Eduardo Romero, General Director of B4C (Business for Consumer), emphasized that Rufo and Alimiau are leading brands in Guatemala and that this expansion will support further growth in Central America and the Caribbean. He also reaffirmed CMI’s ongoing commitment to innovation, ensuring high-quality products that meet the needs of pets and their owners.
This effort to automate and expand the plant not only responds to market demands but also aligns with CMI’s commitment to sustainable development. The corporation continues to create job opportunities, strengthen the regional economy, and improve the quality of life in the communities where it operates.
