Education is a cornerstone for the growth of individuals and communities. CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, maintains a strong commitment to professional development through several initiatives designed to enhance technical, business, and academic skills among employees and entrepreneurs.
Through programs like Cocreo, laUcmi, and the Instituto Campero, CMI promotes training opportunities for entrepreneurs, employees, and students, creating long-term sustainable growth.
Cocreo: Strengthening Entrepreneurship in Baking and Pastry
Cocreo, the Baking and Pastry Academy by Molinos Modernos, a branch of CMI Foods (CMI’s food business unit), offers comprehensive technical and business training for entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The program includes detailed modules with an emphasis on innovation, business management, and seasonal products, aiming to improve profitability for baking and pastry businesses.
Since its inception, Cocreo has trained more than 130,000 individuals across Central America and the Dominican Republic, providing tools to streamline processes and enhance market competitiveness.
Instituto Campero: Education for CMI Employees
Instituto Campero is an educational initiative founded in 1992 by Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, Chairman of CMI Foods. Its purpose is to offer high school education opportunities to employees of Pollo Campero and Pollo Granjero without interfering with their work schedules.

laUcmi: CMI’s Corporate University
For nine years, laUcmi has played a key role in CMI’s organizational development strategy. As a corporate university, its mission is to enhance employee competencies and skills across all business units.
The educational model at laUcmi is built upon three main pillars:
- Development as an individual responsibility: Employees actively participate in their personal growth.
- Internal leadership: Encourages a collaborative learning community.
- Active learning: Combines meaningful relationships with technical and specialized training.
In 2021, laUcmi received its first certification from The Learning & Performance Institute (LPI) in London, becoming the first Latin American corporate university to earn this recognition. In 2023, laUcmi achieved Gold Standard Accreditation, the highest educational certification in the corporate sector.

Education remains a crucial tool for social transformation and sustainable development. Through initiatives like Cocreo, Instituto Campero, and laUcmi, CMI continues to strengthen its commitment to professional training, creating impactful opportunities for its employees and the entrepreneurs within its business ecosystem.
