Sustainable real estate was the central focus of the 2025 Sustainable Real Estate Development Forum, organized by ADIG and the Guatemala Green Building Council. At this event, CMI Capital, business group of Corporación Multi Inversiones, shared its approach to urban development that delivers economic, social, and environmental impact.
During her presentation titled “Shopping Centers as Catalysts for Sustainable Urban Change,” Glenda López, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Manager, highlighted how Pradera Shopping Centers are managed through an integrated strategy that combines profitability, urban regeneration, and shared responsibility with local communities.
Pradera Shopping Centers: A Model for Sustainable Impact
Under the strategic leadership of Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez, Chairman of the Board of CMI, Pradera Shopping Centers have become spaces where sustainability is lived through purpose. Each shopping center is designed as an active community hub and a driver of transformation.
CMI Capital’s sustainability model is built on:
- Emission reduction and energy efficiency
- Responsible water management and rainwater use
- Waste separation and recovery to promote a circular economy
- Use of certified clean energy
- Environmental education and the promotion of civic awareness
These efforts reflect a vision of real estate development that goes beyond infrastructure—aiming to strengthen the social fabric and regenerate urban environments.
Initiatives That Build Resilient Communities
One of the most notable examples is Todos por mi Comunidad (“All for My Community”), a program that promotes local entrepreneurship as a path to inclusion and empowerment. This platform has provided visibility and training to entrepreneurs from rural areas, helping strengthen community-based businesses.
At Pradera, sustainability is also part of everyday operations. Environmental actions are integrated with educational campaigns, civic engagement, and the design of green spaces that enhance the urban experience and local biodiversity in surrounding areas.
CMI Capital’s participation in the 2025 Sustainable Real Estate Development Forum reaffirms its business model focused on people and the environment. Pradera Shopping Centers are a strong example of how shared value can be generated through responsible investment.
