To further its energy generation goals, Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI)’s CMI Capital participated recently in the Future Energy Summit in the Dominican Republic. This is a very important event for Ibero-America’s renewable energy sector, promoted by a strategic partnership between two outstanding organizations:
Energía Estratégica (Strategic Energy), the most widely viewed renewable energy news portal in the region, and Invest in Latam, leader in Latin American energy transformation. The Summit is a high-quality event that attracts top-quality participants, with sophisticated networking.
Thanks to the vision of its President Chairman, Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez, who focuses on a future based on renewable energies and sustainable development, CMI Capital is currently one of the most important stakeholders of the sector in Central America and the Caribbean.
Aldo Vallejo, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability for CMI Capital, was one of the outstanding speakers in the event. Vallejo shared new business opportunities identified by CMI in the Central American and Caribbean markets.
He emphasized company efforts to promote decarbonization initiatives in the region’s economies. He also highlighted the importance of adopting sustainable business models for the planet’s future, as CMI continues to lead the way in the region.
“Sustainability is part of CMI’s business’ DNA. And, particularly at CMI Capital, we have a purpose that leads the entire business strategy, that governs our strategic decisions and involves creating impactful investment to promote sustainable development”, Vallejo underscored.
One of our future strategies involves attracting capital from different parts of the world to build sustainable development-promoting investment, particularly in sectors with the potential for positive impact. In addition, we will seek to partner with companies in different industries to scale up short-term projects.
Greenfield property will be identified to meet various sustainability goals such as efficient waste and water management. These initiatives will consolidate the company’s leadership in sustainable business models to promote economic growth and social wellbeing.
CMI Capital’s presence in the Dominican Republic has grown stronger with operations starting in its first renewable energy generation plant in the country, Mata de Palma solar plant, in the Guerra municipality of Santo Domingo province.
Formed by more than 200,500 solar panels and 50 MW generation capacity, this park supplies clean energy to the country and avoids approximately 61,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year. This initiative reaffirms CMI Capital’s commitment to promoting sustainable development and having a positive impact on people, families and communities throughout the region but particularly in the Dominican Republic.
