As part of its sustainability strategy, CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, has reached a new milestone: the carbon neutral certification of five of its production plants in Guatemala, all part of the B4B (Business for Business) Business Unit. This recognition highlights the corporation’s commitment to measuring, reducing, and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions, supporting a more responsible and environmentally conscious operational model.
The certification was granted by INTECO under international standards ISO 14064-1 and INTE B5. It applies to Molinos Modernos North, South, and Quetzaltenango, as well as Aliansa Masagua and Aliansa Escuintla. With this achievement, CMI now operates nine carbon-neutral-certified plants across the region, including facilities in Costa Rica and El Salvador.
A Sustainability Strategy in Action
This certification is the result of a comprehensive management approach combining technical planning, staff training, and targeted mitigation projects. Key components of the strategy included:
- Implementation of emission-reduction practices in production processes
- Offset of 24,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent—comparable to planting 1.2 million trees
- Use of clean energy credits through CMI Capital, reinforcing synergy across business units
Gabriel Eisemberg, General Director of B4B, emphasized that this recognition reflects the teams’ daily commitment and focus on creating positive environmental impact. Fátima Pereira, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at CMI Foods, reaffirmed the corporation’s ongoing dedication to environmental improvement and community well-being.
Strategic Leadership Toward a Sustainable Future

This milestone also reflects a long-term, institutionally driven vision. The leadership of Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez, Chairman of CMI’s Board of Directors; Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, President Chairman of CMI Foods and Chairman of the Board of Del Real Foods; and Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez, President Chairman of CMI Capital, has been instrumental in embedding sustainability into the corporation’s business strategy—as both a responsibility and a means of generating shared value.
The carbon neutral certification achieved by CMI’s Guatemalan plants is a tangible result of a coherent, technical, and people-centered strategy driven by corporate leadership.
This advancement reaffirms CMI’s role as an organization deeply committed to the future of the planet and the communities where it operates. Sustainability remains a core pillar in the corporation’s mission to create life-changing opportunities.
