The Hecho en Guate (Made in Guate) initiative, led by CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, through its Pradera Shopping Center network, is a concrete effort to promote local entrepreneurship in Guatemala. In partnership with the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, this initiative has been strengthening the local economy since 2022 by showcasing and selling products made by Guatemalan entrepreneurs.
Thanks to the leadership of key figures such as Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez, Chairman of the Board of CMI; Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, President of the Foundation and Chairman of CMI Foods as well as Chairman of the Board of Del Real Foods; and Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez, Vice President of the Foundation and Chairman of CMI Capital, the program reflects the corporation’s social commitment to sustainable economic development and community well-being. Since February 2025, this platform continues to create valuable opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses across the country.
A Space to Showcase Local Talent

Hecho en Guate is an integral part of the Todos por mi Comunidad (All for My Community) program developed by Pradera Shopping Centers. This initiative offers a strategic platform that allows entrepreneurs from various economic sectors to present their products to thousands of visitors.
Since February 7th, Pradera Shopping Centers throughout Guatemala have offered this space to strengthen the local economy through products with a distinctly Guatemalan identity.
Visitors to Hecho en Guate will find categories such as:
- Local food and beverage
- Pet care products
- Tech and electronics
- Handcrafted goods
- Innovative pet solutions
- Wellness and personal care items
- Smart home and household innovations
A Comprehensive Platform for Entrepreneurs
Hecho en Guate goes beyond just offering exhibition space. According to Mónica Covarrubias, Manager of Pradera Shopping Centers, the project will later select the top-performing ventures at each participating shopping center (Chimaltenango, Chiquimula, Escuintla, Huehuetenango, Puerto Barrios, Quetzaltenango, Zacapa, and Zone 12 in Guatemala City). These selected entrepreneurs will receive:
- A free space to showcase their products
- Specialized training to strengthen their business models
- Comprehensive support to help scale their businesses
The partnership with the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, the social outreach of CMI, adds even more value by providing technical training and business development tools to the selected participants, aligning with the foundation’s mission to address social issues at their roots.
Empowering Communities and Driving Sustainable Development in Guatemala

This program aims to generate both economic and social impact in the communities where Pradera Shopping Centers operate. It aligns with the work of the Bosch Family in Guatemala, focusing on sustainability through initiatives that empower small businesses and local families.
Key elements of the program include:
- Free initial exposure for participants
- Opportunities to build new business relationships
- Ongoing training to improve business management
- A push to encourage local and responsible consumption
The Bosch family’s long-term vision, reflected in the social commitment of CMI leadership, ensures that these efforts remain sustainable, positively impacting both entrepreneurs and the communities surrounding the Pradera Shopping Centers. In this way, Hecho en Guate positions itself as an effective platform that combines commercial exposure with comprehensive training to support the growth of Guatemalan entrepreneurs.
