Business leaders Carlos Guzmán, of Xelapan, and Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez, of CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, were honored by the Guatemalan Managers Association (AGG) for their leadership and long-standing contributions to their organizations.
Bosch was recognized with the Lifetime Business Achievement Award, while Guzmán received the 2022 Manager of the Year Award. Both have led their companies to notable success, and they share a common origin: both Xelapan and CMI trace their roots to western Guatemala, Xelapan in Quetzaltenango, and CMI in Totonicapán.
Although the two companies differ significantly in how long they have operated, Guzmán leads a business with more than 40 years in the market, while Bosch heads one of the corporation’s divisions, known as CMI Capital.
The AGG highlighted Bosch’s career:
“He is President of the family-owned Corporación Multi Inversiones, founded by his grandfather -Juan Bautista Gutiérrez- in 1920, which he has led for more than 44 years. The company now employs more than 40,000 people in 15 countries across three continents.”

In its 16th edition, the Guatemalan Managers Association also honored leaders in categories such as innovation, human development, productivity, and business and social entrepreneurship.
